Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the websites and applications provided by coolmac.tools ("we", "us"), including Beacon and Reclaim (the "Apps"). By downloading, subscribing to, or using the Apps, you agree to these Terms.

1. License

Subject to these Terms and an active subscription, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Apps on Macs you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. You may not resell, redistribute, reverse-engineer (except as permitted by law), or remove proprietary notices from the Apps.

2. Subscriptions & billing

• The Apps are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions billed every six (6) months through our payment processor, Stripe.
• Beacon includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and your access continues until the end of the current paid period.
• Prices are shown at checkout and may change on renewal, with notice where required by law.

3. Refunds

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

4. AI mode & your own API keys

Beacon's optional AI mode requires you to provide your own third-party API key (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). You are responsible for your use of, and all charges incurred with, those third-party services, and for complying with their terms. Those providers — not coolmac.tools — process the content you send them. We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or results of any third-party AI service.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Apps to break the law, to access or process data you have no right to, or to interfere with or attempt to compromise the Apps or our systems.

6. Your content & your Mac

The Apps operate on data already on your Mac. You are responsible for maintaining backups. Reclaim removes files only when you choose to; deletions may be irreversible once you empty its quarantine. Use judgment before removing files.

7. Disclaimers

The Apps are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, coolmac.tools will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the Apps. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Apps will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Apps and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of residence of the operator of coolmac.tools, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. We will revise the "last updated" date above.
